Prof Yong Kyu Lew (류용규)

Yong Kyu Lew is Professor of International Business and Associate Dean at HUFS Business School of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul, Korea. He completed his Ph.D. at Manchester Business School of The University of Manchester, UK. Previously he held faculty positions at The University of Hull and The University of Manchester in the UK. Prior to embarking on his academic career, he held a variety of managerial positions in international business, business strategy & development, and international marketing in information and communication technology sectors.
His research interests are on strategic alliances, global strategies, and institutions and innovation. He was nominated for the ISPIM-Wiley Innovation Management Dissertation Award in 2012. In the same year, he was selected as a finalist for the Haynes Prize for the Most Promising Scholar at the Academy of International Business. He has won Best Paper Award for international business at the British Academy of Management in 2013 and Best International Paper Award at the Korean Academy of International Business in 2016. He has won both Outstanding Paper and Outstanding Reviewer Awards in the 2020 Emerald Literati Awards for Excellence.
He has published journal articles in mainstream journals, including Journal of International Business Studies, Global Strategy Journal, Long Range Planning, International Business Review, Management International Review, Journal of International Management, Sustainable Development, Journal of Business Research, International Small Business Journal, International Marketing Review, R&D Management, Industry and Innovation, European Journal of International Management, Multinational Business Review, critical perspectives on international business, International Journal of Emerging Markets, Asia Pacific Business Review, and Management Decision, among others.
